Love Grows Everyday, Love is in our Hearts

Christmas lights with different colors, Christmas trees with round, shiny decors and big, small colorful lanterns. Christmas is here, Christmas is there, Christmas is everywhere. 25th of December, the day that we celebrate Christmas.

But what is the true essence of Christmas? Are those silver, gold decors and gifts?

Christmas Day is not only celebrating or about the birth of Christ but also in showing our love to others, sharing of what we have and being happy. From the word "merry" which means happy, Christmas is about happiness, sharing, giving, love and togetherness. Realizing the blessings that we had, we must share some of this to the less fortunate people. Like the saying goes, "It is better to give than to receive." Christmas is also togetherness. Together with our loved ones, we celebrate this Day as a very special day of the year. We laugh, enjoy and share meal as well as the happy memories.

Love is in the air. We must give love on Christmas Day because it is the true essence of Christmas. Did you already forgive those who mistaken you, apologize to those people whom you hurt and say thank you to the people whom they value you? Well, now is the time. The time to forgive and forget. Spread the love, the happiness and joy to the people around you.

It is not only in Christmas Day where in we should give, share love and forgive. It can even be in our everyday life. Let us make everyday a Christmas!

Cooperation, Determination and Faith in God through Success

"If we lose something, we gain something and if we gain something, we lose something"

This last month which is November, there were many activities that we have done and joined like the Filipino Values Month Celebration with the theme of "Pagpapatibay sa Pagkataong Pilipino: Tugon sa Hamon ng Panahon", STEP Club Skills and Development Competition and the Vigan City Division Athletic Meet 2009.

Sport, an activity involving physical exertion and skill that is governed by a set of rules or customs and often undertaken competitively.

Last November 26-28 was the 2009 City Meet. Many games was played. The athletes practiced well for this event. The different games was held at the separate venues around Vigan City. As a Red Cross Youth Member, we assisted and acted as the first aiders. My companions and I had a duty in the Vigan Gymnasium where the basketball game was held. The athletes of our school did their best and they won as the champion. The basketball players of Ilocos Sur National High School beat the Divine World College of Vigan and the combination of Vigan National High School East and West. We stayed there the whole day so that if anyone will be injured we will be there to help and have a first aid to the patient. Thank God! No one hurts and the game was played well.

In the Step Club Skills and Development Competition, some of our classmates joined this contest. This was held at the ISNHS Gymnasium. All the TLE teachers and the students who came from different schools participated to this event. There were a competition of Mr. and Ms. STEP, table skirting and table setting, flower arrangements, marcoting and others. One of our classmate joined the Mr. And Ms. STEP. We, the IV-Rizal students supported our classmate. Fortunately, she won as the Ms. STEP. We congratulate her for that wonderful success of IV-Rizal.

The Filipino-Values Month Celebration was also held in the month of November. Where in, there were various contest that had done like Cook Festival, Sayawit, Tagisan ng Talino, Poster-Slogan contest and more.

All of us want to win but we must always remember that in a competition, there will always be a winner and a loser. We must have the determination, strength, cooperation and faith in God to achieve our goals.

All for One! One for All!

In our second grading period, I learned a lot from our teacher. I learned about the HTML, tags, how to create html file, applying the tags and many more. I discovered how does a browser display the pages, using the Html Editors like the notepad and knowing that in creating those Web browsers we use notepad and Html tags in making it. It was so cool! From the simple letters and symbols, you can create a beautiful browser display. Our teacher also told us that it is easy but when we have error and would like to edit it, we will be confused in finding the errors so we should make it organized like entering the next paragraph.

The problems that I have encountered was when we didn't asked a permission to our teacher to work on our Investigatory Project. She expected us to be there. We were so worried because our teacher was mad on us and she might not let us attend to her class from our next meeting.

I address this problem by asking forgiveness to our teacher and we will not do that again. Our teacher told us that she wasn't angry. She just want that if we will have projects that we need to finish, we should ask permission from her so that she will also know what to do. And not waiting for us for a long time that we will not arrive to her class. When she talked to us we all say sorry to her for what we have done and we were so happy that she had forgiven us.

Proving on I will continue the great things that I am doing like passing our requirements on time. I will also remember what our teacher had told us and ask permission from our teacher if we will not attend on her class because of other matters regarding in our curricular activities. I will also not forget the things that I have learned because these learning might be use by me in the future.

MY TEACHER, MY HERO

A discipline is not above his teacher, nor a servant.

Our teacher are said to be our second parent in our school. We, children, go to school to learn, read and write. To have more knowledge to the things around us. Our teachers have different characteristics observed by us students. Some of them are strict, patient, kindhearted, talented and has a sense of humor. I appreciate them for their perseverance in molding us. With their support, guidance and understanding, they serve as an inspiration to us. They are doing their best to develop our potentials, impart the necessary knowledge and skills with changed attitudes and values. Teaching is quite a hard work for teacher. They serve as a mother or father to their students as well as their family. At night, they stay late in making their lesson plans and computing our grades. Some of our teachers told us not to take this kind of profession because it is hard. But for as long as you love that job you can manage to do it well. If there is no teacher, there will be no other professions because teachers inform us regarding to the things we need to learn in this world. The things that I learned and will learn from them will prepare me well to face bigger and tougher challenges in life.

So, my teacher is my hero because of having the heart and concern for us to become a successful citizen in our country.

Adapting to Diverse Science Culture for Development

Science is systematized body of knowledge acquired through various processes such as observation, inference, making of hypothesis, experimentation and formulating of conclusion or generalization.
The application of science leads to the development of technology. Technology is the art craft and skill of harnessing scientific knowledge. Technology has improved the quality of life in many ways. DNA analysis is now used to solve crimes. Packaged livelihood technologies produced goods and provide work and income. Nuclear research has brought about technologies for treating cancer, preserving food and providing energy. Harnessing energy from the sun has brought about solar-powered batteries for calculators and batteries. The aqualungs allowed man to explore the ocean depths thereby opening the underwater world for deeper exploration. Cellular phones, computers or a television set that we need in our daily life are products of technology.
All of this are how science and technology, hand in hand influence our lives.

Language not belittle.....

We use communication to talk with other people. There are many kinds of languages and it depends to the place we were going.

Of all the languages in the world, "Wikang Filipino" is incomparable. This is our country's language. We can use it in any part of the Philippines. In Luzon, Visayas or in Mindanao. Before we had no language yet. When Manuel L. Quezon became the President, he went around the different provinces. They have their own dialects. Quezon did not understand their language and he needs an interpreter. So he decided to have our country's language "Wikang Filipino". From that time he spread the use of our country's language, "Ang Wikang Filipino" that bind us in our thoughts and feelings.

It is very important that we must know and learn about the different languages to have an effective communication to the progress of our country. It helped us a lot to stick together for all Filipinos. Let us give importance to our language not to belittle it because it shows our country's identity.

Experiences and Education

Experiences and Education
Our subject TLE is about Internet. I have learned the History of Internet, when was it started, who are the computer scientist that have contributions on the Internet and invented or discovered the protocols. I have also learned how to create and post blogs. In posting our blogs, some of my classmates received a comment in what they had posted. It is good to receive comments to other people that have read our blogs because we can learn from them like how to improve our blogs. I have also learned about the search terms and search engines, the first graphics which is the mosaic, the Philippines connects to the Internet in 1994, Vinton Cerf as the father of the Internet and many more.
The problems or challenges that I have encountered are when we are so noisy in working inside the computer room that made our teacher scolds us and some of my classmates used the computer for their pleasures like for signing in to their accounts in friendster.
I address this problems by telling my classmates to keep quiet because we will disturb other classes and told them not to sign in to their other accounts that are not related to our lessons but others are hard headed and just did what they wanted to do. And also by the help of God in guiding us in our everyday lives and the people around us.
Moving on I will continue to do things which I have been started like doing all the requirements in our class, submitting my assignments on time and applying the things that I have learned by teaching it to other people in using the computer so that they will have also a knowledge about the computer.

Our Main Medium of Conversation

Our Main Medium of Conversation
Speaking is to communicate vocally and to speak to a person of various matters.
English is the most dominant language used globally in any conversation of any ways of communication. In the Philippines, our national language is Filipino inspite of so many dialects use by Pilipino's in different places, but we can easily understand each other by using our very own national language, Filipino.
In the implementation of the "SPEAK TO ME IN ENGLISH OR FILIPINO PROPERLY WITH KINDNESS," the students are required to speak English or Filipino in their school particularly inside the classroom and even their respective teachers so that it will enhance their ability to speak English or Filipino. Now at present time, it is now very normal for us Pilipino's that we're using Filipino as our main medium of conversation. Wherever you go, in the market, in the offices, when we are in a bus or in malls, most of the people around are using Filipino during their conversations.
For me, my personal insight about using English or Filipino when we communicate others is very important especially for us Pilipino's because it is undeniable that Pilipino's are good communicators. We are globally in terms of communication, be it in broadcasting or journalism. It is also beneficial to the Pilipino's if we can speak English or Filipino fluently. That is the reason why some or maybe most countries having OFW's chooses Pilipino's as their "home aids" because they understand their employers easily and they are good in English and also they are fast learner as far as foreign languages are concern.
